The Acer P238HL LED monitor is a very slim monitor and smaller than most monitors in its category but still offers the same display size, having its own kick back stand makes the screen easy to carry and very light in weight. The design is nice and sleek, with a quality built.

This monitor is part of the Acer EcoDisplay models which is mercury-free LED and all materials are recyclable. It also means that the power consumption is extremely low on the monitor. It also has the Acer Adaptive Contrast Management interface, so the monitor analyses each scene, adjusts images frame by frame, enhances gradation and optimises the contras. While reviewing the monitor with Resident Evil 6 we saw some black patches in dark areas but this was only when you looked from the side of the screen.

The specs of the monitor are quite standard for monitors these days. The one thing that it lacked in ports was a DVI port instead it has a VGA one but this doesn’t really bother me as I mostly use HDMI. It has the audio in & out port which is a great feature, I was very pleased to see that the audio also works through the HDMI port so you can just hook up your console, plug in your speakers and off you go. You do not really see the buttons on the screen so you have to feel your way when trying to adjust the monitor; this isn’t a big issue unless you use your screen in a dark lit room.

If it wasn’t for the price this monitor would have been an excellent product but I feel that it is quite overpriced. The monitor is really well designed and I could not find any big faults with it. If you are looking for a great quality monitor that is easy to carry, very slim, looks great and you are not too bothered about the price then you definitely have to consider the Acer P238HL LED Monitor.
